Hungarian and GB Mens Teams coming to Dublin 5-8th June

It has been confirmed by the Irish Water Polo Association, Swim Ireland and the National Aquatic Centre, that we will be  hosting both the Hungarian and the British Water Polo senior squads for a training camp and 2 matches between 5th – 8th June this year.

Water Polo is a National Sport in Hungary and their Mens team have won the Olympics on the last three consecutive occasions, most recently in Beijing. Their Senior squad consists of 22 players who between them have more than 40 Olympic Gold Medals. This visit is part of the Hungarian Team’s preparation for the World Championships being held in Shanghai from 16 to 31 July.  Two fixtures between both Hungary and Britain will take place and will represent the highest standard of Water Polo ever witnessed in Ireland.

The matches will take place on Mon 6th June in the evening (approx 7pm) and also at the same time on Tues 7th June.  More details will be issued shortly in relation to tickets etc.

Congratulations to Clontarf who have won National League Div2 and also a big congrats to Cathal Brugha who won National League Div 3 (unbeaten in their matches)

Well done to Guinness who won the Bro Philip Cup on Sat evening beating Half Moon 12 goals to 11
