The Ireland squad competed in the 6th Annual Debica Cup in Poland over the weekend. The squad produced great performances against some very tough opposition, especially the eventual tournament winners Ukraine and pre-tournament favourites Belarus.
The highlight of the tournament came in the last game against Lithuania when the squad had to come from behind to level the score in the 3rd quarter. A tremendous effort from everyone to overcome fatigue in the last quarter saw a goalless period, but a deserving draw nonetheless.
Ireland 4-4 Lithuania
Ireland 0-16 Ukraine
Ireland 6 – 15 Poland Jnrs (Overage Sqaud)
Ireland 5 – 9 Poland
Belarus 19 – 2 Ireland
Coach: Joe Smyth
