It is with regret that we inform you all that, former Ireland National Coach Jim McDonnell passed away today whilst on holiday in Spain. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. May he rest in peace.

Irish Waterpolo Association 
Only just found out James had passed after seeing a tribute in the Irish News . James was a true gentleman in every sense of the word, I first met him in his Dublin Rd Shop back in the 80`s and he always had time for a yarn about scooters, as well as doing me more than one good turn over the years.
Sympathy at this time for James` family .
